Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the best-known ingredients to even and illuminate the skin tone. It works by inhibiting the production and expression of melanin by the melanocyte cells. It also provides protection against UV damage and free radicals. This is, however, quite an unstable ingredient that can easily lose its potency. To keep it completely fresh, our vitamin C comes in powder form and is only activated when you decide to use it by blending it with the Aqueous Gel in the same bottle.

Aqueous Gel
This soothing liquid is the vehicle that delivers vitamin C to your skin, and consists of a 9% blend of hydrating humectants together with a 2% concentration of soothing d-panthenol. Panthenol functions to promote hydration, works to improve your skin’s barrier function, and helps to soothe discomfort that can come with starting to use high concentration actives such as vitamin C.

Instructions for Use: We recommend a 4-week intensive regimen where you apply the solution daily, every evening after cleansing and before applying your serum. Do not use it at the same time as retinol.

Niacinamide
Niacinamide is an amide form of vitamin B3 that has been shown to increase the thickness of the stratum corneum (the outer layer of the skin), and improve the barrier function and hydration of the skin’s outer layer. This impressive ingredient also serves to deliver effective skin radiance properties, which promotes a radiant, healthy-looking glow. Niacinamide has also been shown to deliver benefits to the dermis, increasing dermal collagen production to promote an overall improvement to the integrity of the skin.

Cica
Cica is a perennial herb that has been used for generations for its wound-healing properties. The main mechanism of wound-healing and regeneration occurs due to fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are a type of skin cell that work to increase the synthesis of collagen, as well as mucopolysaccharides, to promote the strength and quality of newly formed skin. Cica also helps to reduce inflammation and boost cellular activity, helping to soothe, calm, and regenerate the skin.

Biocellulose
The biocellulose used in our mask is produced via fermentation, using pure coconut water and a bacterial strain called acetobacter xylinum, a process that takes approximately 7-12 days. Biocellulose has a very high serum-loading capacity and an increased ability to attract hydration. It delivers a softer, more gentle feel to the skin. It is exceptionally pliable and is better able to morph to the specific topography of the skin, increasing the contact area between the skin and the active serum. This ensures better absorption and better performance.

Retinol
Retinol is known for its ability to address a number of skin concerns, including deep wrinkles and skin texture. It works by promoting collagen synthesis and boosting skin cell turnover, to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Our specialised version of Retinol is encapsulated, and is delivered to the skin in a protective, single layer polymeric shell to maximise potency and skin benefits.

Instructions for Use: We recommend a 4-8 week intensive regimen where you apply these drops every evening after cleansing. While some tingling or slight discomfort is normal, do not use it at the same time as vitamin C. If you prefer to slowly introduce retinol into your routine, feel free to use the product once during the first week, twice (non-consecutively) the second week, three times (non-consecutively) the third week, and so on until you find that your skin can tolerate daily usage.

This process helps to restore radiance to the complexion, while minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, age spots, and blemishes.

Instructions for Use: If you have very dry or sensitive skin, slowly introduce AHA into your routine to target and/or treat specific concerns for a limited time period. Apply this solution in the evening after cleansing and don’t forget to always apply sunscreen while using this product.

Are these products compatible with my skin?
All NovAge Proceuticals products are optimally formulated for performance and safety. If you are unsure how your skin will react to the product for the first time, we recommend doing a patch test to see how your skin reacts to that product. This is done by applying a small amount of product onto a small area of clean skin along your inner forearm. Make sure to keep that area dry for 24 hours. If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed at any time during the test, do not continue using this product.

Can I layer the ProCeuticals products with my routine?
With ProCeuticals, there’s no need to layer. Simply choose which skin concern you’d like to address first and incorporate that targeted solution into your normal routine. For example, let’s say your main skin concern is hyperpigmentation. In this case, we recommend our 10% Vitamin C Solution. If you have additional skin concerns, you may choose a different ProCeuticals product for the future.

Can I repeat a treatment once I’ve finished the recommended course?
Sure! While the ProCeuticals range is developed to achieve amazing results in a short amount of time, if you find that your skin is tolerating that particular product well, then by all means, feel free to use that product again.

Can I use ProCeuticals with any routine? Or only NovAge?
